Lil Uzi Is A Big Name Now

Influenced as much as Marilyn Manson and My Chemical Romance as he was by artists like Wiz Khalifa, Mike Jones and fellow Philadelphian Meek Mill. And his eclectic tastes show through in his music, with his trap style also described as rock-rap or even emo rap. He's best known for his massive hit, 'XO Tour Llif3', which was pretty much one of the main trap anthems of 2017 alongside Cardi B's 'Bodak Yellow'.

In 2016 Lil Uzi Vert was named One To Watch by both Spin and Complex magazines, though he'd been on the scene for six years already. So what changed? Well his signature rapid-fire delivery (which also earned him the 'Uzi' in his title) got him noticed by some pretty big players in the industry after DJ Diamond Kuts who have him some well-earned radio airtime. Cosying up the likes of Don Cannon and DJ Drama helped get his music into the record studios, and from there onto Spotify - and the world. Though maybe don't mention Don Cannon or DJ Drama to him these days... seems that partnership is "old" news...
