Why see Los Angeles Philharmonic - Debussy, Ravel, and Beyond?
Bienvenue
The works of three of France's most cherished composers are the focus of this appealing program conducted by Matthias Pintscher. Also featuring violinist Renaud Capucon, the evening is a chance to experience the West Coast premiere of his and Pintscher's newest collaboration, Mar'eh.
Expect to hear Ravel's first major orchestral work, the Spanish flavored Rapsodie espagnole, alongside Debussy's Iberia, the most popular work from his Images pour orchestre triptych. Dukas' Goethe inspired The Sorcereor's Apprentice finishes the program, recognizable both in and out of the concert hall for its famed appearance in Disney's Fantasia.
