Jelly Returns!

The 1992 Drama Desk and Tony Award-winning winning musical Jelly's Last Jam returns to New York in 2024 for a long-awaited revival, in the hands of Tony-nominated and Obie-winning director Robert O'Hara! The unique and outstanding biographical musical tells the life of jazz legend Jelly Roll Morton through the recollections of his post-death purgatorial self, featuring the timeless music of Morton himself.

The original won three Tonys and six Drama Desk awards, including for Outstanding Book for George C. Wolfe's contribution. Featured in this production are original cast members Allison M. Williams, Mamie Duncan-Gibbs and Stephanie Pop Lofgren as The Hunnies, with Nicholas Christopher (Sweeney Todd) in the lead role of Jelly, and a stellar cast including Tony winners Joaquina Kalukango, Leslie Uggams and Billy Porter.
