Los Angeles Philharmonic - Scenes from The Magic Flute

Closed October 8, 2017

An evening celebrating the legendary composer.

Why See Los Angeles Philharmonic - Scenes from The Magic Flute?

Before his untimely final illness, Mozart's last year was one of great productivity, this recital will see Dudamel continue his tribute to the composer's 1791 works, presenting two of the most popular. The evening will begin with Clarinet Concerto performed by the internationally acclaimed soloist Martin Frost, before a glorious rendition of scenes from the enchanted opera The Magic Flute.

Mozart's final year

Aged just 35 Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart succumbed to a mysterious illness that debilitated him just one month after the premiere of The Magic Flute, the last of his over 20 operas. Despite not seeing out the year, he composed many pieces and was well thought of by audiences in Vienna and further a field. His legacy was immediate and has continued to this day, with his name being synonymous with classical music both to fans and laymen.
