New West Symphony: The Four Seasons at Fred Kavli Theatre

Why see New West Symphony: The Four Seasons?

As part of their 2017 season, the Thousand Oaks Plaza's very own symphony orchestra presents a double program featuring works by Ravel, Vivaldi and Mozart, conducted by Joshua Gersen in his debut for the New West Symphony, joined also by 2 014 Billboard Top-Selling Classical Instrumentalist violinist Anne Akiko Meyers. Ravel 's Le tombeau de Couperin will mark the first time this work is performed by the Symphony; this is followed by Vivaldi's The Four Seasons and concluding with Mozart's Symphony No. 40 in G Minor, K. 550.

A relatively new arrival on the classical music scene, New West Symphony was founded in 1995 drawing its professional artists from the rich talent pool of Los Angeles -based musicians. The Symphony is based over three venues as the resident company of the Oxnard Performing Arts Center, the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, and Barnum Hall in Santa Monica, led by music director Marcelo Lehninger.
