The Eighties' cult musical returns to Los Angeles!

Based on the 1980 cult movie favorite, Thousand Oaks presents a brand-new stage revival of FAME, the musical that got us all reaching for our leotards and in some cases, violins. Following the changing fortunes of a group of aspiring students hoping to attend New York's High School Of Performing Arts, this musical is chock-full of teenage angst, high-flying choreography and of course a stunning soundtrack of tunes including Hard Work, Fame and I Wanna Make Magic. A musical hit since its Miami world premiere in 1988, Fame has been performed in most major languages across the globe, winning top theatrical awards along the way, including an Academy Award for the titular tune.

What makes a successful performer? That is the question on the lips of a motley group of young New Yorkers, as they strive to get a place at the presitgious Performing Arts School. From aspiring opera singers, rock drummers, classical musicians, ballet dancers and vocalists, the lives of the students all intertwine together with dramas, learning difficulties, love affairs and struggles with drugs, before they can prove that they are the best in class.
