Compassion is not a relationship between the healer and the wounded. It's a relationship between equals. Only when we know our own darkness well can we be present with the darkness of others. Compassion becomes real when we recognize our shared humanity.

The celebrated spiritual leader joins Father Greg Boyle for an insightful evening of spiritual teachings
A shining beacon of light amidst the stormy seas of modern life, beloved Tibetan Bhuddist teacher, author and nun Pema Chodron has inspired millions of people with her compassion, gentleness and wisdom in the face of adversity. Giving teachings on the power of the human connection and cultivating inner strength through vulnerability, the spiritual leader joins New York Times Best Selling author Father Greg Boyle, the founder of Homeboy Industries, for an evening of thought-provoking soul food.
The event marks the 20th anniversary of Homeboy Industries, a youth program founded in 1992 by LA native Boyle. Proceeds from the evening will support the community cornerstone, which provides former gang members with mental health counselling, educational classes, tattoo removal and employment readiness training. The organisation is a testimony to the power of the hope and the profound impact of selflessness.
