Innocence + Experience Tour

U2 is the only band that remained at the top of the game for more than 40 years. I+E, like most of what they do, was a risky idea : culture, history, spirituality, drama, burlesque, cartoon, revolution, celebration and rock‘n‘roll. By making a hard, courageous move of pulling the show onto them and not throwing it away to the audience like every other great touring artists do, they proved how, being old as they are, could not only stand still against the competition and their past, but also continue pushing the limits of what an artistic performance can be. I truly find hard to believe that one could attend a U2 show and have a honest negative opinion about them. Llike many great artists, death might be the only career move to reconcile U2 with its detractors.

Powerful and moving would be the two words to describe last nights concert. Im not sure if using the word concert is correct here ! A journey into the lives of this band and the door they have allowed open for us to experience some of what they have gone through. Absolutely moving........was it a concert or was it a personal conversation between the band and myself. If you have the chance to see this show do not miss this. Ron O'Neill

Went to see the show on Saturday 7th October at the Sphere. Overall, in my honest opinion, the visual optics were absolutely amazing and helped carry the band. Having been a life-long fan of U2, it’s clear to see Bono can no longer reach those demanding high notes anymore, and on many occasions pointed his mic towards the fans to help fill the gaps. Energy was good but not the greatest, but in fairness it’s such a small stage in the shape of a turntable it’s difficult to run around on it. Zoo station was bit of an anti-climax. Being the opening song of the show I expected it to open with a bang with overwhelming visuals, but instead I felt it was fairly underwhelming like so many songs. Age is finally catching up which was always going to be inevitable.

Bono is a Drink

I have seen U2 35 times. This was the worst performance of their 40 years. The people who know U2 KNOW that Bono was hammered, ugly, disheveled. He was a mess and the show was worse. "Pride (In the Name of Love)" was the only shiny pebble in a pile of dirt. Bono needs to sober up or quit playing altogether. SAD.
