The Grammy- and Emmy Award-winning Israeli-American is renowned as the pre-eminent violinist of the 20th century after coming to prominence at the tender age of 13 on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1958. Despite losing the use of his legs due to polio, he has overcome the odds to become one of the most successful violin virtuosos in the world and his haunting music work has featured in movies including Schindler's List and Memoirs of a Geisha.

January 28 - February 19, 2017

Mozart's charming comedy opera is given a 20th century update to the Roaring Twenties, combining the elegance of inter-war Europe with the flashbulbs of old Hollywood. Taking place on the iconic Orient Express train traveling from Istanbul to Paris, two beautiful ingenues are held captive by a nefarious nobleman of the Ottoman royal family - meanwhile their two fiances are desperately trying to rescue them, racing against the clock! Helmed by guest artist James Robinson, the current Opera Theatre of St. Louis director, this sparkling production is part of the LA Opera's 30th anniversary season.

Hot on the heels of his dazzling Broadway turn as Cabaret's devilish Emcee, actor, singer and Scottish national treasure Alan Cumming brings you his sappy songs. Taking the form of a simple musical revue, these series of dates sees Cumming taking love songs by the likes of Annie Lennox and Cole Porter, and bring their raw, bruised emotional core right to the surface.

Thirty-year-old Lang Lang has played sold-out recitals and concerts in every major city in the world and holds the distinction of being the first Chinese pianist to be engaged by the Berlin Philharmonic, the Vienna Philharmonic, plus all the top American orchestras. The first huge cross-over star from the People's Republic, he came from humble beginnings as the son of an anti-vice police officer and a telephone operator and whose success has seen over 40 million Chinese children learn classical piano since coming to fame.
