They performed together numerous times over the years, and now the Hollywood Bowl pays tribute to electrifying trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie and legendary singer Ella Fitzgerald with this incredible double bill concert.

First up, an all star big band tear their way through Dizzy's back catalogue, using his original charts. Among those featured are Grammy award-winning composer and arranger Billy Childs, whose worked with the likes of Yo-Yo Ma and Chris Botti. Then, rounding out the evening, a cavalcade of special guests join the Hollywood orchestra for a selection of numbers from the Ella Fitzgerald songbook. Hamilton star Leslie Odom Jr., R&B singer Andra Day and jazz violinsts Regina Carter are all scheduled to perform.
