Priscilla Queen Of The Desert at Celebration Theatre

Why see Priscilla Queen Of The Desert?

LA's Celebration Theatre Performs Priscilla Queen Of The Desert

Beginning its fabulous life in the form of the outrageous 1994 Australian comedy-drama starring Hugo Weaving, Guy Pearce and Terence Stamp, Priscilla Queen of the Desert reinvented itself as a Tony-winning musical that has enjoyed tours around the world as well as a critically acclaimed Broadway stint produced by fairy glam mother Bette Midler in 2011. The iconic gay production now enjoys a local run at LA's Celebration Theatre, a company dedicated to entertain and inspire with productions that celebrate the LGBTQ community.

The story follows the misadventures of two drag queens and a transgender performer as they journey across the Australian outback to perform at a remote resort in Alice Springs. The journey brings them face to face with a menagerie of colorful characters as well uncomfortable incidents of prejudice, forcing them far from their comfort zones. Expect dazzling costumes, drag comedy and host of dance-floor-filling tunes!

I'm a senior citizen and if I find it's great you should too. ... Read more
