Peter And The Starcatcher
[a] blissful exercise in make-believe

Why see Peter And The Starcatcher?
PETER PAN AS YOU'VE NEVER SEEN HIM BEFORE!
Think you know the story of Peter Pan? Well, you don't know all of it...Based on the celebrated 2004 novel by Dave Barry and Ridely Pearson, Peter and the Starcatcher takes us back to a time before Wendy and the Lost Boys, a time when Peter Pan wasn't Peter Pan at all. As we begin, he is only one of many poor, malnourished orphans aboard a pirate ship named The Neverland. Over the course of the next two hours you'll discover how this young boy became the legendary imp of J.M. Barrie's classic, meet Wendy's mother Molly, and see just how Captain Hook lost his hand (not by crocodile).
Originally opening on Broadway in 2012, Peter and the Starcatcher was an instant hit with audiences and critics alike. It won five Tonys and one Drama Desk Award, as well as three Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards, as voted for by the public. With a cast of only a dozen, this endlessly enchanting play conjures up its world through wildly inventive stagecraft and the phenomenal acting of its performers, who each ably inhabit multiple roles, from timid lost boys to scurrilous pirates.

WHAT IS PETER AND THE STARCATCHER ABOUT?
A trunk full of valuables is bound for the Kingdom of Rundoon, by the order of The Queen herself. It will travel aboard The Wasp, but to distract any pirates from looting this precious cargo, an identical trunk will be placed as a decoy aboard another ship, The Neverland. The only flaw in this plan is that the Captain of The Neverland is the not-to-be-trusted Bill Slank, who just before the two vessels set sail, switches the trunks. Also on board The Neverland is a ragtag band of pirates, Molly Aster (the future Mrs Darling) and a trio of young orphan boys, one of whom isn't too fond of growing up...
