I see every show that comes to Boston, and many in NY and even in obscure, suburban theatres. This was, by far, one of the best shows I've seen in years. The casting is PERFECT! The child actors were amazing--especially young Allison. The dialogue was witty and intelligent. The sentiment, touching. The subject matter, timely. I just loved it! I will see it again while it's in town.

I am from NY; moved to LA years ago. Seen many plays in my day; but this one blew me away. I was apprehensive to see it with my 11 y/o God-daughter; but proud to say we both loved it immensely. I am 51 y/o. This play was so touching, so heartfelt, so moving, so real. Yesterday (at the 1pm show), I stood up and cheered at the end; entire audience gave it a standing ovation. Thank you for such a brave, poignant story of true life and self- realization! Very poweful story told with humor and heart. God bless you all for putting on a masterpiece production :) I highly recommend this show to everyone who enjoys genuine stories told with great heart and enthusiasm!!! *****10 stars*****

I've been a fan of Alison Bechdel for years, and read Fun Home when it first came out. I also insisted that our local library, in a small town near Hendersonville, NC, purchase a copy. When I heard there would be a Broadway production of the difficult family issues Bechdel had written about, I was surprised. It seemed too good to be true that the Peace Center was staging a production of this musical in Greenville, SC. As it turned out, this production exceeded my wildest expectations. The cast was incredible, from Carly Gold making her professional debut as small Alison to Kate Shindle as Alison and Robert Petkoff as her father Bruce. Everyone on the stage sang, danced, and acted with verve and aplomb. Musicians added live backing to the songs, whether actors were dancing, singing, or both. The sets and lighting were phenomenal. There were people of all ages at Saturday's matinee, and few of them left early. Thanks for a great production - wish there were 10 stars available!
