The Geffen Playhouse presents the highly anticipated world premiere of this new show, boasting Oscar nominee Robert Forster (Jackie Brown, Mulholland Drive) and Tony and six time Emmy winner Tyne Daly (Cagney & Lacey, Gypsy) in the lead roles.

Described as a play with music, Chasing Mem'ries was created by playwright Joshua Ravetch, whose many credits include co-creating Carrie Fischer's one woman show Wishful Drinking. Telling the story of a woman not yet ready to let go of her life, Chasing Mem'ries features an incredible selection of tunes from the catalogue of songwriting duo Alan and Marilyn Bergman, who have three Academy Awards to their name, and whose countless classic numbers include 'The Windmills of Your Mind' and the theme song to the movie In The Heat of the Night.

A Dazzling Evening in the Theatre

Tyne Daly is luminous in this world premiere musical. Funny, poignant and ultimately riveting, this play captivates, moves and deeply affects. One of the most satisfying evenings my wife and I have ever spent in a theatre. Robert Forster plays Tyne Daly's husband, Franklin. But Franklin is a memory evoked only in the mind of Victoria and as the play evolves, we are forced to face the brutal realities of love and loss and the struggle to come to terms with all the realities of life. ... Touches the heart and funny bone

This show pulls you in and reminds you we are not alone in this journey. Casting was perfect. The actors played their rolls with a loving touch for the play and the music was the icing on the production. Hats off to the musicians working this show.
